Center of Excellence in Water Science and Technology for Sustainable Environment has expertise in the research and development of integrated water-resource management technologies, covering the entire water system from upstream to downstream. The Center focuses on water-resource management through forest-resource management in natural and simulated ecosystems to assess available water resources for consumption, utilization, and ecosystem conservation. It also develops wastewater treatment technologies based on chemical and biological processes to enhance the treatment efficiency of industrial wastewater and promote water reuse. In addition, the Center emphasizes the study of nutrient cycles and nutrient transformation using aquaponic and bioponic systems as innovative approaches for nutrient circulation and sustainable water management. The reuse of organic waste is also promoted to reduce environmental impacts. Overall, the Center is committed to integrating knowledge in chemistry, biology, and modern technologies to address water-quality challenges and support sustainable development in water management and sanitation, in alignment with Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6).
