The Center specializes in the design, synthesis, and application of advanced photocatalytic materials, with particular strength in visible-light-responsive systems that unlock the full potential of solar energy. Our expertise spans the full innovation pipeline — from sustainable material synthesis using waste-derived precursors and eco-friendly approaches, to impactful real-world applications including pollutant degradation, solar-driven hydrogen production, CO₂ conversion to valuable fuels and chemicals, photoelectrochemical energy storage, and photocatalytic sensing for environmental and chemical detection. By weaving together materials science, chemistry, and engineering, the Center delivers high-impact innovations that address the world's most urgent clean energy and environmental challenges — from the laboratory bench to real-world deployment.
